I just finished up a case in court and it had a different twist, and that is that the husband was making a lot of money, the wife was not – which is not unusual – but what the other side was asking for, and would’ve been granted by the judge in any event, was that my client maintain his life insurance policy and put down the primary beneficiary as his ex-wife, his children his secondary beneficiaries, and that will stay in place until her maintenance or his maintenance obligation ends. At that time, it’s going to be changed whereas the primary beneficiaries are going to be the children, until the child support obligation ends.
